Vida Militar: ¿En qué me metí?

En la organización Veteran Spouse Network estamos muy emocionados de ofrecer un grupo de apoyo para nuestros cónyuges/parejas militares y veteranos de habla hispana. Navegar por la vida militar o posterior al servicio puede ser un desafío, más aún si el inglés no es su idioma principal. La intención de este grupo es compartir y relacionarse como una comunidad de habla hispana con otros cónyuges afiliados a las fuerzas armadas.

Conoce al líder del grupo: Karla Kretchman tiene una licenciatura en Comunicación y una Maestría en Educación, ella se mudó de Tijuana, México a Lincoln, Nebraska con su esposo. Como cónyuge de un veterano de la USMC, Karla encontró un nuevo propósito en la vida y la necesidad de servir a la comunidad militar, especialmente a las esposas que funcionan como proveedor de cuidados de sus veteranos, tal como lo hace ella. Actualmente Karla se dedica a convertirse en un mejor soporte y ayuda para su esposo y una buena guía para su hijastro.

Karla habla español e inglés con fluidez, pero el idioma principal de este grupo será el español.

Para ser elegible para este grupo, debe ser cónyuge, pareja, cuidadores o familiares de un miembro del servicio activo o un veterano posterior al servicio. Los miembros de la familia y las personas viudas o divorciadas de un miembro del servicio activo o veterano posterior al servicio también son elegibles para este grupo.

La elegibilidad para nuestros clubes sociales virtuales varía según la sesión, así que consulte nuestra página de Eventbrite para ver otros clubes sociales que puedan interesarle.

Una vez registrado, en la mañana del evento, se le enviará por correo electrónico una invitación de Zoom para unirse a través de una computadora, tableta o teléfono. Una vez registrado, también podrá acceder a la información de Zoom al ver la página de eventos en línea del evento. Se puede acceder a la página del evento en línea haciendo clic en el botón "Ver el evento" en el correo electrónico de confirmación de su pedido, O seleccionando el botón "Acceder a este evento" en el lado derecho de esta página.

Dado que a veces hablaremos sobre nuestras vidas personales y familiares, les pedimos a los participantes que asistan a la sesión virtual desde una habitación donde se pueda mantener la privacidad o que utilicen auriculares. Le pedimos que se una al chat a la hora de inicio programada. Si se une después de 15 minutos, el líder se reserva el derecho de no admitirlo en la sesión si cree que interrumpirá al grupo. Si nadie se une al chat dentro de los primeros 15 minutos, el líder cancelará el chat.

The Veteran Spouse Network is very excited to offer a peer support group for our Spanish speaking military and veteran spouses/partners. Navigating military or post service life can be challenging, more so if English is not your primary language. The intent of this group is to share and network as a Spanish speaking community with other spouses that are military affiliated.

Meet your peer leader: Karla Kretchman has a bachelor’s degree in Communications and a Master’s degree in Education, she is a transplant from Tijuana, Mexico to Lincoln, Nebraska. As the spouse of a Marine Corps veteran, Karla found a new purpose in life and the need to serve the military community, especially the spouses that function as their veteran’s caregivers, just as she does. Currently Karla is dedicated to becoming a better caregiver to her husband and a good guide to her stepson.

Karla is fluent in both Spanish and English but the primary language of this group will be Spanish.

To be eligible for this group you must be the spouse, partner, caregivers or family members of an active duty service member or post-service veteran. Family members and individuals who are widowed or divorced from an active duty service member or post-service veteran are also eligible for this group.

Once registered, on the morning of the event, you will be e-mailed a Zoom invite to join via computer, tablet, or phone. Once registered, you will also be able to access the Zoom information by viewing the event's Online Event Page. The Online Event Page can be accessed by clicking the "View the event" button in your order confirmation email, OR by selecting the "Access this event" button on the right-hand side of this page.

Since we will be talking at times about our personal lives and families, we ask that participants attend the virtual session from a room where privacy can be maintained, or utilize headphones. We ask that you please join the chat at the scheduled start time. If you join later than 15 minutes, the leader reserves the right to not admit you into the session if they feel it will disrupt the group. If no one joins the chat within the first 15 minutes, the leader will cancel the chat.
